Our Climate empowers young people to advocate for the science-based, equitable, and intersectional climate justice policies that build a thriving world. With a grant from Progressive Multiplier, Our Climate is building a mid-level donor program with a series of in-person events that focus on youth climate leaders’ art and stories.
The in-person events, scheduled for New York and Washington, D.C., will highlight the impact Our Climate has on youth climate leadership development and climate justice policy advocacy. While showcasing the creative art and stories of the young climate leaders involved with Our Climate’s leadership development program, the events will engage donors with local bands, food from chefs from the organization’s Food Justice Fridays series, their Frontline Climate Warriors documentary, and their youth-led climate justice zine. Current donors will be invited to attend and bring at least one new guest. Following the event, new donors and prospects will receive follow-up communications.
Through this project, Our Climate aims to raise $70,000 at the end of the first year and $485,000 over three years.
Our Climate empowers young people to advocate for the science-based, equitable and intersectional climate justice policies that build a thriving world. They engage and train youth from affected communities and groups to participate in broad and diverse advocacy coalitions.
This project is currently in progress; final results will be shared in a case study at a later date.
