California Black Power Network: E-Commerce
The California Black Power Network (CBPN) is on a mission to unite Black grassroots organizations across California, working together to dismantle systemic racism and improve the lived conditions of Black Californians. Known for their commitment to building Black political power, they're taking their work to new heights with an innovative e-commerce initiative that blends community engagement with sustainable funding.
Here’s the Plan:
CBPN is launching their first-ever e-commerce merchandise store on Printify. This bold move serves dual purposes: to generate independent revenue and to amplify their message through wearable activism. By offering branded merchandise, they're not just selling products; they're creating tangible symbols of solidarity and support for their cause.
To achieve this:
The Network is employing a multi-faceted approach:
- Lead Acquisition - In the lead up to the launch they will be leveraging an in-person touchpoint at an event in Los Angeles, collecting mobile numbers to fuel an email campaign
- Impact Messaging: CBPN is testing three distinct messaging frames to highlight the impact of purchasing their products:
- Representation: Emphasizing how purchases support the fight for equitable representation.
- Building Thriving Communities: Showcasing how sales contribute to initiatives that enhance living conditions.
- Connecting: Highlighting how purchases fund vital community conversations and collaborations.
- E-commerce Features: They're introducing various elements to boost sales and engagement, including discount offers, free shipping promotions, and a "sign up and save" feature
- Promotional Window for Highly Engaged Audience: There will be a special promotional 24 hour window for an identified segment of their list. This promotional window will only be valid for the first 24 hours of the site launch.
Progress & Impact
CBPN knows that data drives success. They've set up testing protocols for each aspect of their launch:
- Analyzing engagement metrics for each messaging frame, aiming for a 15% increase in click-throughs and time on page.
- Tracking conversion rates, with goals ranging from 2.5% to 3% depending on the feature.
- Collecting user feedback through surveys, targeting positive responses from at least 70% of participants.
- Monitoring the impact of promotional offers on average order value and customer retention.
This initiative is more than just a revenue stream; it's a way to strengthen their network, amplify their message, and create lasting change. By blending e-commerce with activism, the California Black Power Network is planting the seeds for a sustainable future, ensuring they can continue their vital work for years to come.
