Unite Oregon: Creating a Monthly Sustainer Program

Unite Oregon is a membership organization led by people of color, immigrants and refugees, rural communities, and people experiencing poverty, and it works across the state to build a unified, intercultural movement for justice. With a first grant from Progressive Multiplier, they created a leadership and education program and raised unrestricted revenue through tuition and sponsorships. Expanding on the project's success, Unite Oregon is building a digital monthly sustainer program.

Unite for Power (U4P) is a monthly sustainer program that includes stewardship and engagement by connecting the donor to systemic change through capital projects. Unite Oregon launched an email series to recruit donors to U4P, and a welcome series to retain new supporters. Language in the emails shares the importance of independent revenue generation to the organization and to advancing their mission. Unite Oregon plans to test the use of premiums as an incentive to sign up. At an upcoming gala, they are promoting monthly giving as an opportunity to add to their year-end total of revenue.
