LUCHA: Establishing an Educational Institute in Arizona

Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA) is led by changemakers fighting for social, racial, and economic transformation. They are committed to human dignity, inclusion, equity, and collective growth across the state. With a grant from Progressive Multiplier, LUCHA established the LUCHA Institute, a school that leverages the organization’s existing political and organizing training program to raise unrestricted revenue.

Under LUCHA Institute, the organization will create a steady revenue stream, with the state of Arizona paying for students to enter the program and individuals paying their own admission fees. Currently, LUCHA is building the architecture, refining the curriculum, and working to locate the physical space needed to launch the Institute. To fuel this effort, they have hired a new development director to help lead the project.

When fully operational and at capacity, LUCHA anticipates the Institute will raise over $150,000 per year between state revenue and individual donations.
