NAYA Action Fund: Adding Donor Pathways

The Native American Youth And Family Center (NAYA) Action Fund engages in political advocacy and builds electoral power in partnership with the Native community throughout Oregon and Washington. Fueled by a grant from Progressive Multiplier, NAYA is building a diversified c4 revenue generation program that provides authentic engagement pathways for the organization’s deep (American Indian Alaskan Native) and mass bases (foundations, non-AIAN individuals, unions).

NAYA has a goal of adding 50 individual donors split equally between 25 monthly donors and 25 one-time donors. Their main acquisition strategies will occur through events and email campaigns. In addition, they will work to diversify their institutional funder base beyond founding donors, focusing primarily on the civic engagement sector and c4 or hybrid grants.

NAYA will also launch a union-giving program by creating a pitch tailored to this audience. From a solicitation list of 10 unions, they anticipate two will make gifts for $10,000 to $15,000.

In their initial efforts, they launched their monthly donor program, securing $500/month from four donors. In addition, they held their first-ever fundraising event and raised $4,500.
