Ideas for Us: Free Learning Management System Attracts New Members

IDEAS For Us (IDEAS) is a nonprofit and accredited NGO of the United Nations that creates global environmental solutions through local action related to energy, water, food, waste, and ecology. To grow their membership and deepen their relationship with their existing audience, they are using a grant from Progressive Multiplier to launch a subscription-based membership program with an online Learning Management System (LMS) that will provide low-cost educational content. 

By offering content on how to organize communities for eco-action and training needed to enter careers in sustainability, the LMS is designed to attract new followers who find the content helpful in their own sustainability projects. 

IDEAS launched the LMS in November of 2022, repurposing educational content typically only available to members. They are marketing it to their constituents and the public through email, social media, and digital advertising. Since the launch, they have also expanded their membership program to include corporate memberships and are actively working to create partnerships that will include employee access to LMS. 

As of July 2023, the project has raised $29,000. IDEAS expects to make $50,000 in the first year and double its investment annually.
