More than 500 anti-LGBTQ+ pieces of state legislation were introduced across the country this year. And on the final day of Pride, SCOTUS gouged the civil rights protections of members of the LGBTQ+ community. This is unprecedented and dangerous and a deafening call to action for all of us who are in a position to support building LGBTQ+ power. One of the key elements of building power is organizing independent money -- and right now, that is what LGBTQ+ groups need to do so they can scale to meet this moment.
With anchor funding from the Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, we are launching Progressive Multiplier’s first dedicated LGBTQ+ program to support their alumni's independent revenue generation. Our work with these inaugural 17 groups is the next best step for Progressive Multiplier to take in today's fight for LGBTQ+ equality.
To fully support grants and strategic assistance for the six groups that are part of the Strategic & Technical Assistance Cohort, we are seeking an additional $250K in investment by January 2024.
